The first time the two sides met on May 11, the Brumbies smashed the Seagulls 11-1 - which was part of Callala's 11-game win streak to start the season.
But since that result, the Seagulls have secured 10 points from their past seven matches, to well and truly establish themselves in the finals race.
During Tuesday's round 14 fixture at Emmett Street Oval, the hosts made the perfect start when Alicia Boome scored within the first 60 seconds.
That lead was doubled 16 minutes later when Madison Cater found the back of the net, for her 26th goal in 2021.
Despite being down 2-nil, Rob Hawker and Tony Briggs' side didn't drop their heads and pulled a goal back in the 36th minute through Courtney Crossland.
After returning from the break down 2-1, the Seagulls continued their charge and were rewarded with a penalty in the 55th minute, which Sophie Lymbery calmly converted.
This proved to be the final goal of the game, despite a host of chances to both sides, as it ended 2-all.
The result, the Seagulls' best of the season, sees the Brumbies drop points for the first time in 2021.
Despite the result, Callala still sits in first place on 40 points, seven clear of second-placed Milton-Ulladulla, who lost 2-1 to Sussex on Tuesday.
At Lighthouse Oval, goals Emma Foley (65th minute) and Lauren Gilbert (82nd) set up the win for the visitors.
Caylie Wise pulled a goal back late for the hosts but it wasn't enough on the night.
Sitting in third is Shoalhaven Heads-Berry Maroon (31 points), who had the draw this week.
Fourth is Sussex (23), with Huskisson in fifth (23) - just ahead of Shoalhaven United (22), who smashed Heads Blue 9-nil.
Shaylee Meehan was on fire at Lyrebird Park, scoring seven goals - to take her season tally to 29 from just 12 games.
Lauren Trenerry scored the other two goals for the Bears in the win, their fifth of the season.
The final game of the round saw Illaroo down St Georges Basin 2-nil, thanks to efforts from Samantha Murphy and a Tilhaney Grainger own goal.
Next round, Callala hosts Basin, United take on Illaroo, Sussex play Huskisson and Heads Maroon locks horns with Milton, with Heads Blue having the bye.
