So it was no surprise the prospect of racing against a number of the state's top junior and senior riders at the newly formed Pro MX Series didn't phase him one bit.

As one of the youngest riders in the field, the St Johns student performed strongly in both round four races in Maitland, to finish in the top-20 overall.

This is the latest of Hantis' strong results in 2021, starting with a fourth-place finish at Bega's King of MX qualifier.

The 14-year-old then headed to Wodonga to compete at the Victorian Junior MX Titles.

A seventh, fourth and third-place finish saw Hantis end up in fifth overall in the 100-125cc A grade division.

Then in June, Yamaha rider Hantis headed north to Toowoomba for round five of the 2021 Sunshine State MX Series.

After a solid 17th place in race one, Hantis improved to claim seventh and fourth in the second and third races respectively, to finish the under 13-16s junior lites section in seventh.

All these races led to June 12's King of MX state final at Sydney's Harris Park.

Competing in the 100-125cc two-stroke under 13-16s years division, Hantis started off with a third place in the opening race.

He mirrored that finish in race two before securing second in the final event, to claim third spot on the podium.

"I've been very happy with my season so far," Hantis, who rates his podium finish at the state titles as his 2021 highlight, said.

"This is my first year in the 125cc class and the top guys are a couple of years older than me, so to be competitive against them is great."

Hantis, whose brother Zane finished fourth at April's King of MX 65cc under 7-9s years division at Wagga Wagga, will now shift his attention's to September's Australian junior championships at Rockhampton's sand track.

"I'm feeling really positive going into the Australian titles in September," he said.

"I'll continue to train hard with my coach Greg Moss and with dad, to ensure I'm ready to give it my best shot."
