This means numerous sports will now be stuck on the sidelines for at least a fortnight before an updated season draw is released by their respective competitions.
Group Seven Rugby League were forced to postpone its competition midway through round 11, which means Albion Park-Oak Flats' match with Jamberoo at Centenary Field and Shellharbour's showdown with Stingrays at Ron Costello Oval - both scheduled for Sunday - will have to be played at a later date.
In Saturday's Group Seven action, Gerringong downed Warilla-Lake South 32-18 and Kiama smashed Milton-Ulladulla 42-6.
Illawarra Rugby, who completed three round 12 fixtures on Saturday including Shoals' 48-15 triumph against Tech Waratahs, has announced their competition will be put on hold until at least July 10.
Similar to Group Seven, Illawarra Rugby will have some catch-up games to play, with both the Kiama and Campbelltown and Camden and Avondale matches postponed on Saturday, due to players being unavailable due to COVID-19 restrictions.
AFL South Coast completed its only two round nine fixtures at North Dalton Park, with the other four premier division games already scheduled for next week, due to the designated split round for the junior representative carnival in Nowra.
These two games saw Northern Districts secure their first win of the season against Wollongong Lions 8.15-63 to 7.8-50 in the men's, while the Lions won women's contest 2.6-18 to 0.1-1 against the Tigers.
This means the other two men's and two women's premier division clashes will be played once the competition returns to the field.
Other competitions impacted include Baseball Illawarra, which postponed its entire round 11 on Friday, Football NSW, including the campaigns of South East Phoenix and Southern Branch Inc, Basketball NSW's Waratah League, featuring the Shoalhaven Tigers, who lost both the division one men and youth league fixtures on Saturday, and Illawarra Hawks, and Illawarra South Coast and Shoalhaven Hockey competitions.
Nowra Velo Club's Sunday meet was also postponed due to officials and cyclists not being able to attend because of the lockdown.
All these respective competitions will be stuck on the sidelines until further notice, with more announcements expected in the coming days.
At this stage, the Shoalhaven District Football Association, which played four round 11 games on Saturday and the Shoalhaven Netball Association (who are currently on a three-week school holiday break) competitions will be pushing ahead with the 2021 season as per normal.
Earlier in the week, state-based competition such as Willandra's state cross country titles, the NSW Hockey under 21s state championships, Netball NSW junior state titles and Nations of Origin were all postponed due to COVID-19.
