SUSSEX Inlet's Jasmine Greenwood edged closer to securing her spot in the Paralympic team on Monday by breaking the women's SM10 200 metre individual medley Australian record.

The 16-year-old first broke the record by 0.83 seconds in the Australian swim trials heats by clocking a 2:29.93.
She then backed it up later that night at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre by going even faster in the final with a time of 2:29.83.
This performance, which is more than one second under the qualifying time, saw her easily win the event and edge out closest rival Tiffany Thomas Kane (3:05.90).
This is just one of the strong swims performed by the Shoalhaven High School student during the Tokyo trials.
The Bay and Basin Amateur Swim Club product's first came in the 100-metre butterfly where she finished in 1:08.17 to finish third behind Paige Leonhardt (1:06.21) and Taylor Corry (1:08.01).
More importantly, in the heats of the same event, she touched the wall in a personal best time of 1:07.00, which was also under the Tokyo qualifying mark.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games representative then backed it up in the 100-metre freestyle heats, where her time of 1:02.36 has her placed as the fastest qualifier going into the final on Tuesday night.
These results put Greenwood in a strong position to make the Australian Dolphins squad for Tokyo, which in unveiled on Wednesday night following the conclusion of the meet.
