A home at Tapitallee, north west of Nowra, has been damaged in an early morning fire.

A number of Rural Fire Service crews were called to the home in Emerys Road around 7am on Tuesday, June 15 after reports of a structure fire.
Crews from Cambewarra, West Nowra, Greenwell Point and Shoalhaven Heads attended the property, with the fire confined to a lounge room area of the home.

A RFS spokesperson said it appears the fire had started in a television set inside the room.
"The fire and damage was confined to that room," the spokesperson said.
"However, there was also smoke damage."
The male and female occupants, who were home at the time of the fire, managed to escape the home uninjured.
NSW Ambulance and NSW Police crews also attended the fire.
