Harvey is among three players in the running for the Andrew Gaze MVP, alongside Perth's Bryce Cotton and Brisbane's Nathan Sobey.

The guard has played a key role in Illawarra's charge into the 2021 playoffs, averaging more than 20 points, 3.24 assists and 3.68 rebounds per game.

"In what has been a season like no other and one with numerous challenges, something that hasn't changed is the world-class quality of basketball on display in the NBL," NBL commissioner Jeremy Loeliger said.

"Bryce Cotton, Tyler Harvey and Nathan Sobey have all had sensational seasons and are well deserved finalists for the MVP."

Harvey is one of several Illawarra personnel to be nominated for a major NBL honour.

Hawks coach Brian Goorjian is in contention for the Lindsay Gaze Coach of the Year Award, Sam Froling is up for Most Improved Player, Justin Simon is in the running for the Damian Martin Trophy for Best Defensive Player, while Justinian Jessup has been nominated for Rookie of the Year.

All NBL award winners will be announced on June 16, with the presentation to be broadcast live on ESPN at 8pm.

Other awards to be announced include Most Outstanding Media Coverage, Referee of the Year, Gametime by Kmart Award, Fans MVP, First Team, All-NBL Second Team and Executive of the Year.

"The amount of superstars that are finalists for all other awards, along with those unlucky to miss out, reflects the depth of talent in the NBL," Loeliger said.
