Naar was among several players given extended minutes in the side's 79-73 loss to the Kings in their last regular season game, with the 26-year-old managing 12 points, six assists, three rebounds and one steal.
"It was big. Obviously some guys needed some rest, it was our fourth game in seven days," Naar said.
"To get some of the younger guys out there with extended minutes was good, because everyone is going to have to step up in the playoffs.
"Whether you play a couple of minutes or playing 40, you've got to be ready."
The performance continued Naar's solid form, who has represented the Hawks on 34 occasions this season.
He is thankful for his coach's ongoing support.
"It's a credit to our new owners and new management for bringing in someone like Brian Goorjian," Naar said.
"'Goorj' gives a lot of confidence. He always tells us to go out there and play our game, especially on the offensive end.
"He just wants us to go out and have fun.
"He obviously knows his stuff but I think where he is best is motivating guys and giving them confidence.
"And I think you can see that out on the floor."
