The win, while boosting their for and against, also helped the Lions strengthen their hold on a top-two position after Albion Park-Oak Flats' run of wins came to an end against Warilla-Lake South on Sunday.
For the Dogs, the loss was the latest in a string of heavy losses that have come to be a common occurrence in the rebuilding 2021.
Gerringong led 38-nil at half-time and showed little mercy for the home side as they continued to pile on the points in the second half.
Fellow winger Joel Doosey then streaked away to score under the posts, with Jake Taylor converting for a 10-nil lead.
Rixon Russell was the next Lion to cross, followed in short order by his brother Isaac and with two conversions from Taylor, the writing was well and truly on the wall at 22-nil with just over 15 minutes played.
Kayne Brennan then put Doosey in for his second and third tries of the half, before Corey Mulhall crashed over on the stroke of half-time, with Taylor adding two conversions for 38-nil at the break.
There was no stopping the Lions or Doosey after the break, and the Gerringong winger had his fourth inside the first minute of the second stanza.
Mulhall then grabbed his second, before the Russell brothers combined to send Isaac over for his double.
Taylor added two more conversions for 54-nil after as many minutes.
Skipper Nathan Ford then crashed over with Taylor converting, before some ad-lib play on the last tackle allowed Taylor to stroll over for a try of his own and 64-nil.
Replacement Beau Doosey then crossed before Isaac Russell notched up his hat trick in the dying stages.
Taylor added a final conversion on the stroke of full-time to round out the score at 74-nil.
Next up for the Lions, who are now 5-1, is a home match against the Stingrays on Sunday, while the winless Dogs travel to Centenary Field to face the Eagles in round nine.
