At Rugby Park on Sunday, the Rays, coached by Brad and Buster Reh, smashed the Nowra-Bomaderry Jets 48-24 - to keep their finals hopes alive.
The match's scoring started in the third minute, when a shift to the left created an overlap, allowing NSW Country representative Chanse Perham to burrow his way over.
Back-rower Anthony Nabbe failed with his sideline conversion, as the score remained 4-nil.
Another shift to the left, following a cut-out pass by Jimmy Scott, then lead to more points for the Rays, as Nabbe and Perham both assisted in putting winger Temana Temaari over.
Nabbe made amends for his first kick, slotting it from out wide, to put the visitors up by 10 after nine minutes.
Soon after, the Jets' right edge defence was again under pressure as Jake Kamire sensationally found Matt Murray with an offload, before the latter found a flying Jayden Harris, who scored just inside the left corner post.
Nabbe's kick was waved away but the Rays were up 14-nil at better than a point a minute.
Destructive prop Kamire got a four-pointer of his own in the 16th minute, when he barged over and slammed it down, despite four Jets defenders.
Nabbe added the extras and it was 20-nil.
The home fans finally had something to cheer about in the 19th minute when a backline play to the right, capped by a cut-out pass from Mark Brandon, put young winger Brayden Omoeboh to score.
Braydon Walsh nailed the sideline kick, cutting the deficit to 14.
But that comeback was short-lived, as another strong run by Kamire, where he bumped off numerous Jets defenders, set up Perham's second.
Nabbe continued his strong afternoon with the boot, as the Rays' lead extended back out to 20 points.
The half's scoring was wrapped up in the 37th minute when a deft grubber-kick by Zaan Weatherall was pounced on by his cousin Ben.
Nabbe missed the kick, as the visitors led 30-6 at half-time.
A different Jets side took to the field in the second 40, as they set about working their way back into the match, starting with a try to Mark Brandon, set up by Jake Gould, in the 46th minute.
Soon after, a sleight of hands by Kealen Blattner sent Dwyane Connors over, before the hosts had their third in quick succession when a darting run from Gould sent back-rower Trent Waldron over.
Walsh converted all three tries, making it 32-24 with just over a quarter of the game remaining.
Nabbe's easy conversion made it 38-24 with 12 to play.
More magic from Harris saw him complete his hat-trick soon after - with Nabbe landing his sixth goal of the afternoon.
In the final minutes, referee William Drury sent Jets' Nick Falzon off for dissent before Perham iced the game, following a wrap around by Hamish McLaurin and Harris - sealing the 24-point win.
The Rays, who are now 1-1-3, next face Milton-Ulladulla at Bill Andriske Oval, while the Jets travel to Ron Costello Oval on Saturday to take on the Sharks.
