Brittany Constable spearheads First Nations Gems' assault on women's national championship

Constable and her side, which will be coached by Jessica Skinner, will kick-off their four-day tournament on Thursday with matches against Northern Territory and Victoria.

Then on Friday, they will take on the Australian Defence Force and Western Australia - before facing South Australia on Saturday.

The results of these five clashes will determine their seeding heading into Sunday's finals.

Joining the South Coast talent in the First Nations squad are Stacey Markham, Shellie Long, Robyn Draper, Nickita Kirby, Kiya Simon, Akira Kelly, Brooke Tongalea, Tazmyne Luschwitz, Kyra Simon, Ataliah Love, Tawana Sullivan Togo, Lacey Hickson, Rikka Lamb, Takiyah Nagas, Naomi Clayton, Nickolle Kirby, Tymekqwa Duckett, Janaya Trapman and Karri Williams.

Constable is one of four Group Seven products that will be competing in Queensland this week, with Stingrays pair Teagan Berry and Jordyn Preston, as well as Milton-Ulladulla's Keele Browne named in the NSW Country under 19s squad.

The trio's side, which will be coached by Illawarra Steelers' Alicia-Kate Hawke, will start their campaign against Northern Territory, before games against South Australia and QRL Rubys - prior to the start of finals.

Group Seven will also be represented by referee Rhianna Boag at the national championships.
