The Disability Inclusion Action Plan outlines what actions Council will take to improve accessibility and the overall quality of life for people living with disability in the Shoalhaven.
Community members are invited to participate in the review by completing a survey or attending the following community consultation workshops:
- Nowra: Nowra Library, 10 Berry Street, Nowra on Thursday, June 3: 1.30pm-2.30pm and 5pm- 6pm.
- Bay and Basin Area: BBCR Youth Centre, 18 Sanctuary Point Road, Sanctuary Point on Thursday, May 20 at 1.30-2.30pm.
Community feedback will help shape the development of Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan for 2021-25.
The survey, which is now open, asks people to review the region's commitment in building an inclusive and accessible community.
The survey can be completed online, at the council building in Ulladulla or by calling 4429 3111. The survey will close on Friday, July 9.
"The Disability Inclusion Action Plan aims to ensure that people with disability enjoy the same opportunities and benefits of living and working in the Shoalhaven as everyone else," she said.
"The Plan is based on the social justice principles of equity, access, connection and participation and recognises the rights of people with disability as set out in the United Nations convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities.
"We need your feedback to create an actionable plan that supports all members of our community."
