With the COVID-19 pandemic again causing the cancellation of the esteemed Australian Interstate Series, Golf NSW has continued to recognise the achievements of our best athletes with state representative status.
Joining Mollymook Golf Club product Bennett (who now plays at St Michael's) and fellow South Coast talent Stefanie Hall (Links Shell Cove) in the squad are Avondale Golf Club's Christopher Fan, Grace Kim, Jye Pickin and June Song, Concord Gold Club's Belinda Ji and Sophie Yip, Royal Canberra/ NSW Golf Club's Harry Bolton, St Michaels Golf Club's Harrison Crowe, The Australian Golf Club's Jeffrey Guan and Pennant Hills Golf Club's Andy Richards.
Former St Johns student Bennett continues her climb through the ranks of Australian amateur golf, claiming the Women's Tasmanian Open Crown earlier this year.
Alongside Sophie Yip, Bennett was a member of the NSW Women's Team, which claimed back-to-back interstate teams crowns in 2018 and 2019.
Golf NSW's general manager of operations, Graeme Phillipson, said all of the individuals selected had produced impressive results in the last year, despite the difficulties COVID-19 had presented.
"The playing group we have selected have recorded some great results, especially with the difficulties of closed borders and travel restrictions due to the pandemic," Phillipson said.
"This is an impressive squad, and they all have impressive resumes."
Selected at senior level for the first time are Fan, Guan and Hall - who now plays with the Australian Golf Club.
