DESPITE an improved effort across the board, the Bomaderry Tigers dropped to their third straight defeat to start the 2021 AFL South Coast women's premier division season.

Playing at the Nowra Showground for the first time this season, the Tigers started strongly against the Kiama Power before a second-half surge saw the visitors run away with the game 6.10-46 to 5.1-31.
Shellee Gibson (two), Brianna Dalgleish, Elizabeth Hoctor, Madeline Taylor and Bethanie Durham kicked majors for the Power, while Nikki Murray, Rhianna Nelson, Rose Hughes, India Patmore, Shannen Karger and Lily Macdonald got on the scoresheet for the black and golds.
Best on ground for the Power were Alyce Quod, Madeline Taylor, Paris Rodriguez, Kelsey Wishart and Jordan White, as Macdonald, Nelson, Kamille Carter, Grace Hughes, India Patmore and Karger did what they could for the hosts.
In other women's premier matches, Saints easily accounted for Northern Districts 3.8-26 to 1.1-7 while the Bulldogs edged the Lions 2.3-15 to 1.3-9 in the all-Wollongong derby.
The other Tigers team to take to the Nowra Showground on Saturday, after Kiama forfeited the division one men's match against Bomaderry, was the club's division two men's side - who smashed Albion Park 24.17-161 to 1.1-7.
Goal-kickers in the big win for Bomaderry were Matt Hickmott (six), Justin Weller (five), Nick McDonald (three), Hayden Roach (two), Jacob Wright (two), Charlie Bramley, John Ulrick, Corey Braddick, Jeremy O'Byrne, Lachlan Price and Jack Batson.
In other AFLSC news, Kiama broke through for their maiden men's premier division win of 2021 by downing the previously undefeated Shellharbour Suns 11.16-82 to 5.3-38.
Elsewhere in that grade, the Figtree Kangaroos notched up their second straight win with a 16.12-108 to 7.10-52 victory over Northern Districts while the Bulldogs claimed the bragging rights over the Lions in the all-Wollongong derby, winning 11.12-78 to 5.4-34.
Finally, in men's division one, Nowra-Albatross ground out a tough 6.7-43 to 5.8-38 win against Port Kembla as Ulladulla went down 12.11-83 to 4.7-31 to the Lions.
