Heading into the match at Rugby Park, both teams were undefeated but five-pointers from Jimmy Hendrix and Steven Brandon set up the win.
Mark Brandon converted one of the two tries as well as adding two other penalty goals.
While Liam Vuik scored the visitors' lone try, which was converted by James Curgenven.
Elsewhere in round five saw Bowral smash Camden 66-13, Vikings edge Kiama 27-25, Campbelltown Harlequins outscore University 47-26 and Avondale thrash Tech Waratahs 47-14.
In second grade Shoals downed Shamrocks 15-8.
Next round, Shoals head to Bowral to face the fourth-placed Blacks, who sit just behind Paul Connor's troops with a 3-1 record.
