Some could say Wednesday's announcement just doubled the value of tickets with two superstar acts at each concert which will tour to Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast and the WIN Entertainment Centre.
"Pumped for Keith, pumped to be touring again and pumped live music is coming back post-COVID," frontman Ian Kenny said in a video on his band's Facebook page.
"We're psyched, we can't wait."
The two acts may be very contrasting in musical genres - country pop and alternative rock - though both have enjoyed number 1 status on the charts and many shiny additions to their trophy cabinets.
Early 2021 saw the Birds of Tokyo play a handful of special concerts with three of Australia's most prestigious Symphony Orchestras, further cementing their reputation as one of Australia's finest live acts.
While for Urban, this tour will be the first in Australia for more than two years, and his first concert in Perth since 2014.
