Mr Waller has been described as a wonderful business man, a huge advocate for our local community and a strong supporter of many local charities.
Mr Waller was the joint owner of the Berry Hotel, until he sold his share of the pub in 2009. It was an era that saw the hotel's staff grow from three to 20 permanent and 14 casual employees, and its income also increase dramatically from just $2000 a week.
A former accountant, Mr Waller bought the hotel in 1985 as an investment but in 1991 a couple of events seemed to conspire to thrust him into a more hands-on role.
Mr Waller continued in the industry, continuing as licensee of the Heads Hotel in Shoalhaven Heads.
As a member of the Shoalhaven City Council Tourism Board and an active member of the Shoalhaven North Visitors Association, Mr Waller was fiercely committed to tourism in the Shoalhaven.
Notably, he was also on the Berry Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in saving the National Trust listed Berry Courthouse amongst continual support and help for so many of the community and sporting groups in Berry.
It is no doubt that Mr Waller will be missed by many.
