Albatross Musical Theatre Company (AMTC) is reprising the show, following the success of their production held at the Nowra School of Arts in 2001.
"When we originally staged the show, it was a great hit and although enjoyed by the audiences, it was also a fantastic experience for the cast, crew and musicians who were involved," producer Ron Hawthorne said.
In 2021, the show will be staged at the newly refurbished Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre and promises to be much bigger and better than before, utilising the improved sound, lighting and staging facilities at the SEC. The show will play for six performances.
Told entirely through song and an iconic 1970's rock score composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, the story explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus and his followers and the Roman Empire.
Featuring well-known numbers such as Superstar, Hosanna, Everything's Alright and I Don't Know How to Love Him, the show is sure to be a hit with audiences once again.
If you are interested in being part of this production and want to find out more, head to the Information night being held at the School of Arts Annexe building, 12 Berry Street, Nowra on Wednesday, April 21 at 7pm.
The Information night will give details of the show, the roles available and how and when you can audition. There will also be information on the other important areas of the production where assistance is needed including musicians, stage crew, costuming, makeup, sound, lighting and set construction.
Anyone requiring any further information can ring the producer, Ron Hawthorne on 0413 044 621 or email secretary@amtc.org.au
