At Rugby Park, Steven Brandon, Mark Brandon and Will Miller (after receiving clearance from the ACT Brumbies) all scored two tries each for Shoals, while William Ridley and Ian Zunckei also crossed for one each.
Mark Brandon also added six conversions for Paul Connor's troops, which sees them move to 2-0 on the season.
In the loss, Michael Pita and Emmanuel Nayagodama crossed for five-pointers, which were both converted by Mawutu Wuatai.
Elsewhere in round three of the Illawarra Rugby first grade competition, Shamrocks defeated University 22-nil, Avondale smashed Camden 34-nil, Bowral outlasted Vikings 48-38 in a high-scoring affair and Campbelltown crushed Kiama 47-17.
In second grade, Shoals belted Tech Tahs 47-nil.
Next week, the CHC Helicopters' Shoals travel to the University of Wollongong to take on the students - with first grade kicking off at 3.15pm Saturday.
