Fresh off their emphatic 4-nil win on the road against Hills Spirit earlier this month, the Bears will now turn their attention's to a match against National Premier League Two outfit North West Sydney Spirit FC - in a match which represents the furthest the club has ever progressed in the national competition.
Funnily enough, this club, despite a recent rebrand from Gladesville Hornsby Football Association Spirit FC, is the same one that ended the memorable run of Nathan Aldridge's Bomaderry into round six of the 2018 competition.
Bears coach Trevor Skingle is over the moon the club will get a chance to play in front of all their Shoalhaven fans at South Nowra's Ison Park from 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 13.
"The whole club is buzzing we get to host a team at this kind of standard, which in my eyes could be the best ever team to play in the Shoalhaven," Skingle said.
"I've played in both Sydney and Wollongong and anytime you step foot onto a pitch of significant standard, you get a massive lift.
"That even showed at our training on Wednesday night, with it probably being our best session to date.
"Everyone is excited about the match and want to be a part of the matchday 16 - which will be a hard squad to make, with three first graders back in the mix that didn't play last game."
The Spirit currently sits in first in the National Premier League Two competition after four rounds, highlighting how dangerous their squad is.
"First and foremost, we are going to try and contain them early and make it into an arm-wrestle," Skingle said.
"We're under no illusions how hard it's going to be.
"In my eyes, it's a privilege we get to play a side of this standard, which shows the level many of our younger guys can aspire to get to if they work hard enough.
"Tuesday will be a night all the players, coaches and fans remember for a long time - I really want the boys to enjoy it because chances like this don't come around very often.
"It's going to be an amazing night for football in the Shoalhaven and if the boys give their all, I'm sure they'll make our club, their families and the region proud, which is all I can ask."
