WIGAN Warriors coach Adrian Lam has confirmed Shellharbour's Jai Field will be out for five months after suffering a hamstring injury in Friday's round one win against the Leigh Centurions.

Lam revealed the extent of the injury in Monday's pre-match press conference - ahead of Thursday's Super League game with Wakefield Trinity.
The Wigan boss provided the bad news as the Group Seven product, who played 17 NRL games before heading to the United Kingdom, picked up a hamstring injury in the 19th minute on his debut for the club - falling awkwardly as he attempted to make a break down the right wing at Emerald Headingley Stadium.
"Sadly we've got the news that it's as worse as it gets," Lam said.
"He's had a complete tear of the hamstring and he's going to be out for five months plus.
"It's sad news for the club, Jai and his family and we've just got to make sure we get around him and help him through this process. It'll go fast and he'll be back soon enough."
