On their way to the decider at Woollahra Oval, Raduva's squad drew 15-all with the University of Sydney, before defeating Newcastle 31-19 and Canberra, headlined by Cambewarra's Aroha Spillane, 21-15.
This saw UTS top their pool, setting up a semi-final showdown with Canberra - which they won 26-12.
They then were pitted against the University of Sydney, who were without the service of injured Superoo Lauren Murty, in the decider.
Dubbed the Battle of Parramatta Road, the two Sydney-based teams exchanged tries early in the first half, with a score from Sydney Uni's Bridget Clark evened out by a long-range effort from UTS' Maya Stewart.
Clark followed it up for her double right on half-time with an outstanding solo effort.
Wallaroos skipper Grace Hamilton then opened the scoring for Sydney Uni in the second half.
Young gun Betty Koula clawed back a try with a great finish in the corner, before UTS captain Mahalia Murphy saved a certain try, ankle-tapping Clark 15-metres out.
But Sydney Uni closed out the game with a deciding try from Claudia Nielsen off a dominant scrum, to seal the 22-10 win.
Aroha's Canberra side claimed the bronze medal, after defeating Newcastle in the play-off.
While at the Queensland leg of the opening round, Griffith University claimed the gold medal, ahead of the University of Queensland, Bond and Adelaide.
Round two of the Uni7s series will be held on April 10 and 11 in Newcastle.
