Now the red and blacks will look to continue their charge towards silverware on the road when they travel to Kellyville's Arnold Avenue Reserve on Wednesday to face Hills Spirit FC - who had the bye in round two.
"Obviously it's been a longer preparation for the game than first expected, as we were supposed to play last Thursday before the wet conditions postponed the clash," Skingle said.
"It probably works in Hills' favour because they've been able to train this whole time on their new ground, while Tuesday night was our only real chance to work on a couple of things because of the rain.
"But regardless of that, all the boys are champing at the bit to get up there and give it their best shot."
Skingle and his side, who will leave on a team bus from Worrigee Sports Club at 2.45pm on Wednesday, will only make one change to the squad that won in round two, with Jake Hush coming in for Taite Arney.
But they know this week's opposition, who play in the Hills Football Association, are going to be a step up from the last match.
"We all know we are going to have to step it up a notch," Skingle said.
"Our first aim is to try and hold them out for the first 25 minutes and get a gauge of the flow of the game.
"With four starting at the back, it'll allow us to move players and change formation if necessary."
If the Bears do progress to the fourth round, it'll be the first time the club has ever done so.
"The boys know they have a chance to be a part of a slice of history, as no Bears team has made it into the fourth round," Skingle said.
"To make it into the fourth round, after beating two tough Sydney teams would be fantastic for the guys and the whole club.
"But we aren't getting too far ahead of ourselves and know we have a job to do on Wednesday.
"At the end of the day, win, lose or draw, if the boys can honestly walk away and say they couldn't have done any more, that's all I can ask of them.
"It's a big moment for us as a club, to represent the Shoalhaven, and I've confident the boys will rise to the occasion."
The match kicks off at 7pm.
