Despite the soggy and torrential conditions on Saturday, the Huskisson product's Bulls were unlucky not to have recorded the opener just two minutes in, after United's Connor Pain took a poor touch and allowed Ivan Franjic to have a shot into an empty net, however just wide.

Three minutes later it was United who made the most of their chance in the attacking third with Dylan Pierias cutting in on his left foot around Tommy Oar, curling his shot into the top corner.

Regardless of the early goal, the Bulls pressed hard to find the equaliser, as the rain continued to come down hard.

A clinical header from Matt Derbyshire looped over United's Ryan Scott made it 1-all in the 34th minute.

Not contempt to go into the break all square, the Bulls dealt United a big blow right on the stroke of half-time when Markel Susaeta latched onto a superb Tommy Oar cross into the box and found the back of the net from close range - which proved to be the difference as the hosts won 2-1.

"For us to go a goal down and then get back into the game, scoring two good goals to win the match at home in these conditions, the boys are very pleased," Macarthur coach Ante Milicic said.

"They deserve full credit for their professionalism.

"With all the rain we've had here in Sydney, the playing surface was great.

"To come from behind and win in that manner, we'll take a lot of confidence from that performance and look forward to Wellington next week."

Federici's Bulls, who are currently in sixth with a 6-2-5 record, next face Wellington at WIN Stadium on Sunday from 4.05pm.
