Glynn Stones's Kangaroo Valley Safaris kayaking business will still lose 80 per cent of its weekly earnings despite the cancellation as customers' deposits have been refunded and their plans have likely changed.
"I'm very happy it's not happening but all the business is now gone anyway," he said.
"[L'Etape] has wrecked this weekend. Now we have to make sure it doesn't wreck another weekend.
"So I think we've got to stop it being rescheduled."

He said if if it is rescheduled in a couple months, that will mean there will be another "umpteen thousand dollars" down the drain for local businesses.
"We've got to go through the whole drama all over again.
"I had to cut my employees' work and I can't employ them for the weekend because there's no work."
The family are still seeking compensation from the Shoalhaven City Council's insurance.
Glynn's son Martin said he is in planning with MP Gareth Ward to host a community business meeting in mid April about the possible rescheduling of the event.
