Five NSW Ambulance crews and the TOLL Ambulance rescue helicopter were called to Beecfroft Peninsula late Saturday afternoon after reports of a rock climbing incident.

Upon arrival near the Point Perpendicular Lighthouse paramedics treated a 25 year-old male for spinal and hip injuries before he was was airlifted to St George Hospital in a stable condition.
The rescue operation was conducted in windy conditions.
NSW Ambulance inspector Faye Stockman said the man had fallen around 15 metres and ended up on a ledge on the cliff face.
"It was a great display of team work between NSW Ambulance, Police Rescue, RFS and the SES. Together we successfully executed a plan to extricate the patient from an extremely difficult location," Insp Stockman said.
"The man was an experienced climber. He was very lucky he was climbing with friends at the time. One climbed up and raised the alarm, while the other stayed with him on the ledge until Special Operations Paramedics arrived."
