Merging traffic a disaster
Anyone can count: four lanes merging into two = traffic jam.
Please get an appropriate bypass constructed as soon as possible.
R. Cooper, Sanctuary Point
Should have preceded bridge
I agree that Nowra urgently needs a bypass. It should have been done before the bridge.

Pedestrians left out
It great having more businesses coming to Bomaderry but how are people without cars going to go to them, you are risking your life trying to cross the highway near the roundabout it need some kind of crossing so cars have to stop and let people cross.
B. Budd, Bomaderry
We're hungry in Ulladulla

Pay peanuts, get monkeys
Of course being a councillor should be a full time job
Raise the pay from $20,000 to, say, $50,000 and we might get some more professional and skilled people running for the jobs. Shoalhaven Council is likely the largest business in the area with an annual budget for expenses over $50 million. No wonder we get poor results with payment to the ultimate decision makers totalling $300,000.
You pay peanuts you get monkeys as the saying goes.
M. Dell, Ulladulla
Relief at mining backdown
It is with sheer joy that I heard the mineral mining licence application for the sand dunes area at Sussex Inlet has been withdrawn.
This is our retirement area and is surrounded by Conjola National Park. Natural beauty and a peaceful lifestyle is what is sold here for retirees.
This is God's waiting room, not a place that should be sold to a faceless company with overseas investors who have not even set foot in our paradise.
