AFL Nines is the sport's social version of the game.
It's a fast, free-flowing game that involves nine players on each team playing on a smaller field.
The appeal of AFL Nines is that it is non-contact with no tackling or bumping, making it suitable for people of any age or skill level.
Importantly, AFL Nines provides a welcoming environment for both men and women where fun, enjoyment and safety are a priority.
The competition has received strong local community support with six teams entered in the inaugural competition which runs on a Wednesday night at the Bomber Oval located next to the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre.
The season will run for the duration of the school term.
The six teams includes the Young Gun Bombers, Clontarf Eagles, Vicious and Delicious (SUP with George), Not So Fast and Furious, Vincentia Sailing Club and Just Kick Straight.
The season is shaping up to be a tightly contested affair with finals held in the last week of term one.
Due to high demand, the club will be running another competition in term four.
Please check out the Bay and Basin Bombers AFL Nines competition page on Facebook for further information and to register your interest in the upcoming term four competition.
