It is a staple on all triathlete's calendars.

Staged on the beautiful shores of Jervis Bay, it also increases tourism in the region in the weeks on either side of the festival weekend.

This weekend (February 26 and 28), the Elite Energy-run event will see the event attract close to 5000 competitors who will compete across various races over the three-day event.

The action will kick-off with the ocean swims on Friday afternoon, fun runs and the shorter triathlons on Saturday and the big dance on Sunday - the long course Ultimate and Classic distances.

Local favourites competing this weekend competing in the Ultimate include Haydn Jervis, Rob Duffy, Josh Henry, Josh Bignell (Wollongong) and in the sprint distance - Brooklyn Henry and Freya Robinson-Mills.

A free shuttle bus will be operating on Saturday, February 27, taking athletes, spectators, locals and visitors from Vincentia Shops, stopping at Huskisson Bakehouse and continuing on to Jervis Bay Brewing Co. the shuttle bus will be operating approximately half-hourly from 12pm to 3pm.

An exciting new initiative from Elite Energy, titled Dream Big is focussed on giving the youth of the Jervis Bay/Woollamia area support to allow them to achieve their dreams across sport, culture, educational goals and more.

Twice annually (end of February and end of July), parents, carers and children from the area will be given the opportunity to apply for funding to help support or fund their dreams.

"We called this exciting new opportunity Dream Big, to really encourage children to reach for the stars," Elite Energy's Hew Colless said.

The support opportunity could be used for a range of purposes, such as the purchase of uniforms, help fund trips to participate in special events, assist with the purchase of a musical instrument or lessons - even assist with tutorials and coaching for sport, cultural learnings or for educational tutoring.

Elite Energy Events will commence this program in 2021 with the Huskisson Woollamia Community Voice and VRRA.

Expressions of interest can be made via the Elite Energy website, and applications will open on the suggested dates for a period of two weeks.

All applications will be assessed through the local community groups and children will be notified by email in March and August.

Ocean swim and fun run entries remain open until midday Friday, February 26, with on the day entries also available.
