At Hanging Rock Oval, the visitors sent the Bay to the crease, which proved to be the right decision.
The Bay were rolled for just 69 runs form their 39 overs in the middle.
Stephen Knight (18) and James Dickinson (16) were the only two batsmen for the hosts to reach double-figures, as Justin Weller (5-18) and Matt Hickmott (4-21) ripped through their line-up.
Ben Seyffer (1-4) was Norths' other wicket-taker.
In reply, opener Hyeon Parsons (28) got Norths off to a strong start but his knock proved to be the only meaningful contribution from the side, as they fell to be 7-52 at stumps on day one.
Darcy Knight led the way with 3-26, as Dickinson (2-6) and Marc Stiller (2-16) both claimed two scalps for the hosts.
When play resumes in the round nine Shoalhaven District Cricket Association first grade clash, Weller (zero not out) and Jordan Pearson (zero not out) will be at the crease for Norths.
Day one of the clash between Nowra and Berry-Shoalhaven Heads at the Nowra Showground was rained out, while Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens had the bye.
