Police were called to the home in Bunderra Drive around 6.30am on Friday, February 19 following reports of shots being fired at the property.
It is understood the shots from a rifle came from a dark coloured SUV, fired from nearby Mackay Street.
South Coast Police Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Scott Nelson, said one of the bullets fired into the home narrowly missed a male inside.
It is understood the bullet missed the man by mere centimetres.
"There were three people, a man, woman and a young child inside the house at the time and thankfully they were all uninjured," Det Insp Nelson said.
"They are assisting us with inquiries.

I want to assure members of the public we do believe this is a targeted incident, be it on those inside the house or the property itself. There is not some sort of random shooter driving around the streets.
- South Coast Police Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Scott Nelson
"We don't actually know how many shots were fired at the home. Our forensic investigators are looking into that.
"But first police at the scene located a number of bullet holes in the house."
And two bullet holes are clearly visible from outside the property.
Det Insp Nelson said the woman and the child were in another part of the house at the time of the shooting.
"This is pretty brazen," he said, "6.30am in the morning things are pretty light."
Police are seeking anyone who may have any information about the incident or may have been in the area at the time or have camera footage or dashcam footage to come forward.
At this stage Det Insp Nelson said all the information police have is the shots were fired from a black coloured SUV, by a male of cauasion appearance, with a skinny build, wearing a high-vis yellow shirt.
"This is the only description we have," he said.
"We are still trawling through some footage we have of different areas."
The house is used as crisis accommodation and also as an Airbnb, with tenants coming and going constantly, with police saying one line of inquiry being "it could be a case of mistaken identity".
"We're speaking to the occupants of the house from this morning, and they are helping us with events leading up to this incident," Det Insp. Nelson said.
"This is one line of inquiry. We are also, of course, talking with other people who live in the street and other people who might have stayed at the property or previous tenants.
"There are lots of people we need to speak to. Our first goal was to establish the crime scene, and we are talking to people on the ground at that location."
He did not rule out the suggestion the incident could be bikie related.
"That is another line of inquiry we are looking into," he said.
"These days bikies have fingers over everything and it is something we won't rule out."
Det Insp. Nelson said the victims were both known to police.
"It's not hard these days to be known to police," he said.
"But I want to assure members of the public we do believe this is a targeted incident, be it on those inside the house or the property itself.
"I want to assure the public there is not some sort of random shooter driving around the streets."
He conceded drive-by shootings were extremely rare in the Shoalhaven.
"We pride ourselves on the South Coast as a nice living area but unfortunately these things, shootings in public places can happen, and it's something we take quite seriously," he said.
"The ramification of shots being misfired at different locations and innocent people getting caught up in it - This is very serious."
Anyone with any information or any footage is urged to contact Nowra Police Station on 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
