Heading into the weekend fur fixtures, Atherton's Bandits, who completed an ABL three-peat in 2019, were 6-17 on the season.
The Bandits won the first two matches of the quadruple-header at Viticon Stadium 12-5 and 4-3 respectively.
Canberra responded in the third match 12-11 at MIT Ballpark, before the Cavalry shutout the Bandits 4-nil in Sunday's finale.
In the latter's victory, former Shoalhaven Mariner Cam Warner drove in three runs.
His Canberra side will now host the Sydney Blue Sox in Tuesday's wildcard game at MIT Ballpark - for a chance to play minor premiers Melbourne in the semi-finals.
Perth and Adelaide will square off in the other final.
