Mollymook's Jason Treweeke was recently diagnosed with throat cancer, which has spread to his liver.
The community support for Jason is heart-warming and ongoing.
His mates [names withheld] wanted to do something as quick as possible to help their friend and their epic walk starts on Wednesday, February 3 at 4am from Nowra.
"Jason is such a great bloke and he is a real family man," one of the walkers said.
He added all they want to do is raise money to help Jason, his wife Michelle and sons Cooper, 15, and Harrison, 13.
A GoFundMe campaign for Jason was established soon after the shocking diagnosis came.
The three walkers hope people will support them by making a donation.
"It [the donation] could be a little as a dollar and it all adds up in the end," one of the walkers said.
"I can't see any reason why we won't finish the walk. If we struggle we will 100 per cent be thinking of Jason and what he is facing."

The trio will walk between 12 to 14 hours per day and will be carrying everything they need on their backs.
From Nowra, they will walk to Nerriga [about 65 kilometres], the next day to Braidwood [about 70 kilometres] and then on the final day walk into Canberra [about 70 kilometres].
