Work started in December with the centre to be closed to the public until early May.
The building and southern car parking area has been fenced off and sections of the red Alucobond cladding on the exterior of the building removed.
The replacement product of the red cladding is an Australian made non-combustible solid aluminium sheeting called Olamclad which fully complies with the Building Code of Australia.
The new cladding will be colour matched to the existing scheme of the building and the look of the existing panelling will be replicated where possible.
Shoalhaven City Council is also be replacing select panels of the grey Kingspan cladding.

While the centre is closed, the complex will also be given a "refresh".
Inside the building a number of works will be undertaken including a new-look Encore Cafe and some new foyer furniture
The centre is now 12-years-old with upgrades also planned for the audio vision (sound lighting systems) so they are compatible with the current touring market.
Council is also looking to upgrade the back loading dock and add a canopy, opening the possibility of the area doubling as an outdoor stage.
While the works take place, council has relocated the Visitor Information Centre services and box office to the Nowra Administration Centre, adjacent to the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre.
The Encore Cafe is also operating as a pop-up cafe in the front of the council foyer.
