There is nothing better than going down to the beach and frolicking in the surf or laying on a towel reading a good book and sunbaking until your skin is the same color and texture as my leather couch at home, however there can be a downside to the beach going experience if you are not careful.
If you go to the beach by yourself, be careful as to what you take with you.
Wallets and phones are items that seem to go missing regularly from your selected location on the beach.
Wrapping your valuables in a towel does not offer much protection, neither does placing the items in a shoe or under a hat.
As I have said in several other beach themed episodes of "On The Beat", wallets and phones cannot swim so there probably is not an urgent need to take them down to the beach with you.
In relation to car keys, there are a number of waterproof products on the Google net that allow for car key security while you are splashing about in the shallows.

There have recently been incidents involving property being stolen from towels while the owners are having a swim.
Remember, you are out in the public and your actions could be seen by anyone, including crooks.
Attempting to hide a wallet or phone will certainly peak a crook's interest.
The easiest way to deal with this is to not provide the bad guy with an opportunity.
If you must take your valuables to the beach, go with a group of friends and take it in turns to watch the items. Don't all go for a swim at once. It would be more fun and less of a worry.
