The Culburra Amateur Fishing Club's January event started with a lumpy ocean a constant drizzle with not too much wind which improved through the day (Saturday, January 2).

Quite a few still braved the conditions, while Sunday (January 3) was a day on the water you prefer to be at home with rain and wind picking up through the day.
The club had 22 people weigh in - 19 for deep-sea and three for beach rock and estuary including six juniors weighing a total of 135 fish.
Well done to Theo Smolenaers who weighed the most fish totalling 15 and Kyah Bourke who weighed the largest fish a groper weighing 1.745kg.

Fish caught this month included nannygai, morwong, flathead, wrasse, flounder, pigfish, snapper, trevally, bream, salmon, beardie, groper and tailor.
