The free exhibition is sponsored by Lifeline South Coast and will run from Monday, January 4 to Sunday, January 10.
The contributors are local artists of the South Coast region who experienced the fire season of 2019-2020, and also local branches of nature conservancy and indigenous culture groups.
The vision is for the art exhibition to be a part of the recovery process for our community, timed to coincide with the anniversary period of the worst of the fire devastation in the Shoalhaven.
Rather than focus on personal material loss, the vision reflects our shared "eco-grief" at the devastation of the beautiful bush habitat and the creatures lost with it.
The artwork draws attention to the resilience and recovery that we see in nature and help us draw encouragement for our own recovery journey.
As part of the exhibition, Shoalhaven Landcare is presenting a series of free talks to provide a better understanding of the impact of the bushfires on our wildlife and learn more about the amazing regeneration and recovery of our native vegetation and fauna 12 months on. Registration online is essential.
