In September this year, detectives from South Coast Police District commenced an investigation following reports of corrupt activity by a female correctional officer.
Detectives arrested a 31-year-old woman at a home at Worrigee about 9.15am on Wednesday, December 30.
She was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with supplying a prohibited drug, corruptly receiving benefit, misconduct as a public office holder, recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime (money/property) and knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime.
Police will allege in court that the woman, who is a Corrective Services NSW employee, received financial benefits of $40,000 from family members of two male inmates to traffic prescription medication and prohibited drugs into the facility.
The woman was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on Monday, January 25.
