It is understood the complex will be closed from next Tuesday, December 1.
The work which will also include an upgrade the facility.
It is expected the building will reopen to the public in early May 2021.
While the works take place, Shoalhaven City Council will be relocating the Visitor Information Centre services and box office to the Nowra Administration Centre, adjacent to the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre.
It will still be business as usual, just in an alternate location.
The Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre Encore Cafe is going to have a pop-up cafe in the front of the council foyer.
It will be something that is small but purpose built and when it returns to the entertainment centre will be able to be used as portable bar space.
That facility is expected to be open from Tuesday.
Other staff will be relocated into council offices where a meeting room has been converted to office space.
