Craig Williams was Nowra's leading bowler with two wickets.
Nowra made steady progress during its run chase but the loss of wickets at vital times hampered the side's efforts.
Dylan Higgins-Bell 25 runs, Joshua Fernie 24 runs, Jamie Preo 24 runs and Blake Horton 14 runs tried hard with the bat for Nowra.
Marlin Webber led the way with the ball for Sussex with three wickets, while Phillip Whittaker and Brett Fernie got two apiece.
North Nowra Cambewarra v Bay and Basin
Angus Lowbridge and the loss of early wicket culled Bay and Basin's chances of defeating North Nowra Cambewarra at Ison Park, South Nowra on Saturday.
Lowbridge picked up a five-wicket haul, while the Basin at one stage had lost three wickets for about five runs.
The Basin won the toss, elected to bat and made 141 runs in its innings.

Batemans Bay v Berry Shoalhaven Heads
Nice and competitive is a good way to describe the Batemans Bay and Berry Shoalhaven Heads match on Saturday at Hanging Rock Oval.
The Bay, after winning the toss, elected to bat first and made 7/161 in its first innings.
Berry went hard at the run chase but with 8/156 was short of the mark.
The Bay had to overcome the loss of early wickets to post what would be a match-winning total.
Down 3/21, the Bay was in need of some urgent partnerships.
Pat Griffin and Jamie Prior got the Bay back on track with a 48 run stand for the fourth wicket.
The partnership was broken when Griffin was sent back to the pavilion with 17 runs next to his name.
Prior went on with the job and his 52 runs was punctuated by four boundaries.
Tom Purcell, with the innings on the right track, was able to bat with freedom.
Purcell's unbeaten 53 runs included a maximum and four boundaries.
Joseph Timbs and Michael Troy took two wickets apiece for Berry.
With Mal Windley doing well with the bat, Berry looked a chance of being able to record victory.
Windley's 50 runs included one six, while Mike Howard, 21 runs, and Ethan Cain, 14 runs, had a bit of fun out in the middle.
Tony Dcosta bowled well for the Bay to pick up three wickets, while Tayah Hancock bagged two scalps.
Bomaderry v Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen's
It was a nice all-round effort for Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen's against Bomaderry at Bomaderry Sporting Complex on Saturday.
Ex-Servos did well with both bat and ball and recorded a comfortable 75 run victory.
Ex-Servos, after being sent into bat, made 9/154 from its inning and Bomaderry was all out for 79 runs.

Viralkumar Patel was the pick of the Ex-Servos bowlers with three wickets, while Tor Janes and Adam Moore enjoyed some success with two wickets each.
