Nowra, after not being able to field a side in first grade last season, played and defeated Berry Shoalhaven Heads by seven wickets on Saturday in a one day match.
Berry, after winning the toss, decided to bat first and made 9/162 in its innings.
Led by Kealen Blattner, who made a more than handy half-century, Nowra went on to win the match with seven wickets to spare.
Berry's Dylan Cosgrove did everything in his power to make sure his side put a competitive total on the scoreboard.
Cosgrove glued the Berry top-order together with his determined 48-runs, which included four boundaries.
Dale Lovatt then showed his Berry team-mates how they should handle the Nowra attack.
Lovatt was in an aggressive mood and his unbeaten 31 runs was highlighted by two boundaries and a six.
Several other Berry batsmen got off to handy starts, only to be dismissed at vital moments.
Charlie Howard, 18 runs which included a six, Aaron Coutts-Smith 15 runs and Daniel Troy, 12 runs, helped Berry reach its 9/162 first innings total.

The addition of former Ulladulla United player, Peter King, into its ranks helped Nowra bowl its way to victory.
King finished the match with the tidy figures of 3/163 from his eight-over stint.
The always dangerous Michael Coulter enjoyed his return to the Nowra first grade ranks with a 3/23 spell.
Blattner warmed up to his match-winning effort by taking two wickets and when he opened the innings with Ryan Henry, took charge for Nowra.
Henry did not stay too long at the crease, but Blattner got Nowra's surge to victory going with a 66 run effort.
The two put 45 runs on the scoreboard for the first innings and Henry contributed just nine runs which shows Blattner's dominance.
Jason Bell with an unbeaten 35 runs and Coulter with an unbeaten 31 runs made sure any chance Berry had of winning the match was snuffed out.
