The plan will build on the success of the Sanctuary Point Bendigo Community Bank Community Forum held in November last year.

Now the bank management and surrounding village community representatives are facilitating the preparation of a community led strategic plan for the Bay and Basin area.

Chairperson of the Sanctuary Point Bendigo Community Bank, Veronica Husted, said they want people to contribute to this significant community led project for the Bay and Basin area.

"The purpose of the Bay and Basin community led strategic plan will articulate the broad values, future needs and priorities of the Bay and Basin area," she said.

"Key findings of the strategic plan will inform planning and project deliveries for the community, council, state government and other partners of this community led project.

"The strategic plan is seeking input and ideas from everyone who lives, works and visits the Bay and Basin area."

Initial community input and ideas is encouraged thorough a survey that can be picked up the Sanctuary Point Bendigo Community Bank or sourced on line here.

"Details of the survey will also be circulated through the Bay and Basin community networks and we encourage everyone in the area to make everyone aware of this important survey," Mrs Husted said.

"The initial survey, and the subsequent follow up work, will provide valuable information to understand how the Bay and Basin sees itself now, where it sees itself in the future and will set out an opportunistic pathway to move ahead."
