One thing stood out.
It's just really, really big.
The new complex will expand from the previous gross floor area of 6,248 square metres to 14,130 square metres.
In more practical terms, you could easily get your daily steps in while wandering the aisles.
The new complex has more than 400 undercover car parks, and many of the sections are double their former size.
It will employ more than 200 residents. Of those, five are professional horticulturalists to provide advice to aspiring gardeners.
COVID-19 restrictions will still be in place when the store opens, so unfortunately kids won't be able to use the indoor and outdoor playgrounds just yet, and the cafe will be operating as takeaway only.
The store also has a surprise feature that's a first in the Nowra.
An escalator will take customers from the undercover parking level up to the store, and to the best of our knowledge it's the first escalator in Nowra.
Management remained tight-lipped about when exactly the store will open to customers, but shelves are filling up quickly.
The new Bunnings Warehouse Nowra features a larger main warehouse, a timber trade sales area with a five lane timber drive through, outdoor nursery and landscape yard, a café and under croft car parking for 450 cars.
The store will also feature many of the newest in-store concepts, including wardrobe displays, bathroom displays, a dream kitchen design centre with 12 brand-new kitchen concepts, an extended artificial plant range, an updated flooring concept, and garage storage displays.
The former store was demolished in late 2019 to make way for the new $27.8 million building.
