Visiting the Jervis Bay park on Friday to mark the 25^th anniversary, Minister for the Environment Sussan Ley said the investment will enhance park infrastructure and create local jobs.

Since its hand back to traditional owners on November 11, 1995, the former Jervis Bay National Park has established a remarkable environmental reputation, acting as a sanctuary for wildlife through the bushfires and as the premiere location for the reintroduction of iconic species such as the eastern quoll.

Minister Ley said the infrastructure upgrades would lead to new direct and indirect jobs and improve the local amenities for visitors looking to get out to stimulate regional economies post coronavirus.

"The new visitor centre will showcase Wreck Bay Aboriginal community's rich cultural heritage to hundreds of thousands of visitors each year," Ms Ley said.

"Booderee attracts national and international interest for its beauty, cultural significance and innovative management of threatened species and is a testament to the management and collaboration of Parks Australia and the Wreck Bay Aboriginal community."

The Morrison Government is investing $233 million in Commonwealth national parks to upgrade and renew infrastructure.

Funding for Booderee includes - The construction of a new visitors centre; upgrades to 11 kilometres of walking tracks; upgrades to campground amenities and nine viewing platforms; road repairs; and upgrades to Murrays board walk and boat ramp.
