Police did not oppose the bail application on Tuesday, October 27, for Travis Lee Young, 41, formerly of Coila Avenue, Tuross Head, provided conditions were met.
Mr Young appeared in Batemans Bay Local Court via audio-visual link from a cell in Batemans Bay wearing a mask and prison greens.
He is charged with dangerous driving, common assault, failing to stop and assist after an impact causing injury, not stopping a vehicle when directed and two counts of failing to exchange particulars at the scenes of crashes.
Sergeant Brendan O'Mahony said police would not oppose bail if the accused was denied the right to occupy the driver's seat of a motor vehicle, was directed to abstain from non-prescription drugs and alcohol and a residential address was provided to the court.
Defence solicitor Geoff Knox said accommodation for his client had been arranged in North Batemans Bay, which was "a substantial distance from Tuross Head".
Mr Knox said his client would not consume non-prescription drugs or alcohol and would not occupy the driver's seat of any motor vehicle.
He said his client has cooperated with investigating police.
"I do note Mr Young has been forthcoming with police and there are a number of admissions he has made," Mr Knox said.
"He has been cooperative."
Registrar Ingrid O'Neill said the accused had no criminal history in NSW but noted matters in Queensland from 20 years ago. She said he had a lengthy "traffic" history.
Registrar O'Neill said the matters before the bail court were serious.
"Two paramedics sustained injuries which required hospital treatment," she said.
However, she was satisfied conditions could be imposed to protect the community.
In allowing bail, Registrar O'Neill said the accused must reside at the address given the court and notify authorities of any change within 24 hours. He must also report daily to police and not occupy the driver's seat of any motor vehicle or consume non-prescription drugs or alcohol.
The matters and an associated provisional AVO were adjourned to Moruya Local Court on November 6.
According to documents tendered to the court, the alleged incidents occurred between 11pm and 11.55pm on Coila Avenue, Tuross Head, on Sunday, October 25.
