However, few would have missed out on more than Ulladulla's Cooper Treweeke, who if not for the worldwide pandemic, would have just returned from a futsal trip to Brazil.

The 15-year-old's selection for that trip, alongside fellow Shoalhaven product Noah Goodsell, first started at Sydney's National Club Futsal Championships, where the pair played for the Southern NSW Futsal Club.

"At that tournament, there were teams from Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria, which was a really good experience for me," Treweeke, who's played football for more than 10 years, said.

"From here, 11 under 15s boys were selected to represent Australia in Brazil in the under 15s boys side."

The tour originally scheduled for October 13-19, has been postponed indefinitely with Treweeke hoping to make the trip to South America next September.

"I was extremely disappointed and sad about it. It was an opportunity of a lifetime just taken away from me," the centre back said.

"The tour was going to involve high quality training sessions from Brazilian coaches hosted at their professional futsal training centre.

"Here we would watch a professional game of futsal, play games against other countries and sight see.

"After the initial disappointment of not being able to go on tour, I made a firm decision to ensure to take every opportunity available, train as hard and often as I can, and make sure I'm ready for further trials that will present themselves."

That trip hasn't been the only interruption to the Ulladulla High School student's 2020 season.

"I'm currently playing for the under 15s Southern Branch side in the Australian Youth League," Treweeke, who dreams of playing for Chelsea in the English Premier League, said.

"With the arrival of COVID-19, it was a late start to the season and we played three games and were on a winning streak but our games were then cancelled due to restrictions.

"We started playing again after two months but only played five games before further restrictions were put in place - breaking NSW up into sporting regions, meaning we couldn't travel to Sydney and the people from Sydney couldn't travel to us.

"Finally, after six weeks on the sidelines, we have finally resumed our season. I just love playing football and I am stoked to now be back on the field."
