THE St Georges Basin Little Athletics Club's season has kicked off with a bang at Sanctuary Point Oval, with two of their athletes already breaking 12 records between them after four weeks of competition.

Senior boy Tsar Mandavy has come out strong this season breaking records in long-jump, breaking the record twice in the one night with a jump of 5.64 metres then 5.66 metres, before clocking 46.04 in the 300 metres hurdle race and 8.30 seconds in the 70 metres dash.
The high jump record was broken also twice broken in the first night, with a leap of 1.77 then 1.80 metres.
Mandavy also attended a carnival in Lake Illawarra and broke their long jump record with a jump of 1.71 metres.
The club's super quick under 15s athlete Laylah Connelly broke the 400m record with a time of 1.03.01.
She then smashed her 100 metres time, clocking a 13.46 before breaking that time (12.48) two weeks later.
Other running records she's broken recently include the 50 metres (6.96), 70 metres (9.69) and 90 metres hurdle (15.78).

Not to be outdone, under 17 girls Reilly Carey has broken two records this season, including the 100 metres (13.33) and 70 metres (9.97).
Finally, under 14 boys Brooklyn Mandavy broke his first record in the 70 metres, with a time of 9.37.
Their athletes are now training for the annual Dragon Derby with will be held on November 15, with just under 200 athletes set to compete.
