Police said the offenders make what appear to be a legitimate inquiry, attempt to sell gift cards or are requesting assistance due to someone allegedly following them.
Police said it is very likely this is only an attempt to gain entry to your home for what appears to be a legitimate purpose but while you are occupied or assisting them, they will steal handbags, cash or purses and any small item visible of value.
Police are aware of a female who is currently doing this and request all residents to not allow anyone into their home they do not know under these circumstances.
Lock your front doors and windows if occupying the rear of the home.
If your front entrance door is open, ensure your screen door is locked.
If someone attends your home requesting assistance, offer to ring the police for them but allow them only to stay outside.
If someone is requesting water offer the tap outside.
If anyone has any information contact Nowra Police on 4421 9699 or call Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
