At Christie Park number one, Southern's three junior teams took on Gladesville, while their first grade women's season is over - after they voluntarily withdrew from the remainder of the season (which was scheduled to finish earlier anyway) due to COVID concerns, as Southern was lined up to play games outside their NSW Health mandated 'bubble' and inside hotspots.
Ian Rankin's under 14 girls side kicked off the day in perfect fashion for Southern, edging the hosts 1-nil - thanks to a long-range strike by Maddy Harris.
Wayne Payton's under 15s squad lost 2-1 to Gladesville, with Lucy Bell scoring twice for the hosts, while Luke Nolan's under 17s were defeated 4-nil - with Mia Duncan netting a brace in the victory.
Southern now have the weekend off, after Western NSW pulled out of the final few games of the season due to coronavirus.
As such, Southern's next lot of fixtures will be against UNSW on Sunday, October 25 at David Phillips Field, before they wrap up their difficult year with home fixtures against the North Shore Mariners at the Thompson Street Sporting Complex on Sunday, November 1.
