After losing last year's decider to the Wollongong Bulldogs, the Vikings have overcome every challenge thrown at them in 2020.

The West Street Oval-based club opened the COVID-19 shortened season with a commanding 12.16-88 to 0.0-2 win over Ulladulla.

This was followed by wins against Bomaderry (19.10-124 to 1.2-8), Wollongong Lions (15.14-104 to 0.2-2), Port Kembla (7.9-51 to 3.3-21), Northern Districts (7.9-51 to 2.2-14), Bulldogs (8.11-59 to 4.5-29) and Kiama (17.18-120 to 0.0-1).

That sealed the merged club their first minor premiership, earning them a home final against the Dockers, which they won 7.15-57 to 2.1-13.

Their eighth win of the secured their spot in their second straight grand final, where they'll lock horns with fellow undefeated side Figtree at North Dalton Park from 10am on Saturday.

The Kangaroos, who downed the Bulldogs 13.5-83 to 5.1-31 in the other semi-final, are the only side the Vikings haven't played this season, as their scheduled match at Figtree Oval on August 8 was washed out.

Leading the way for the Vikings in 2020 have been goal-kickers Taigen Dubbelde, Michael Pelda (both 11), Liam James (10) and Andrew Allmark (nine).
