Maggie will join sister Rene, who plays for Geelong, in the competition.
Selection in the draft comes after a whirlwind year for the dynamic ruck.
Caris played just two games with the GWV Rebels before the season was cancelled, and the National Draft combine, an event to test the physical attributes of potential draftees, was dramatically different.
Instead of undergoing rigorous testing of agility, speed and leaping ability, Caris completed just one task for the national combine - a two-kilometre time trial she ran by herself around the Quantong football oval.
"Obviously that was very different to the usual combine experience," Caris said.
"I was pretty happy with my time given the circumstances - it was probably a bit harder not having the competition around to push you along. All the girls said they found it a bit more difficult.
Pre-season will commence with a two-week induction period starting Wednesday, November 4.
The 2021 AFLW season is scheduled to start the week commencing February 1.
As the AFLW is not a full-time competition, restrictions were placed on this year's draft to ease the burden on players.
Players nominated for the state in which they wanted to be drafted.
If a player was not selected in the draft, and a club from another state has an available spot, they are able to approach the player to see if they are interested in moving.
